About Us
As set out in our constitution, the Holiday Scheme is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objectives are:
To provide holidays and short breaks for children, families and carers who otherwise would not be able to access a holiday due to disadvantages by reason of poverty, deprivation, ill-health, disability or other adverse circumstances
To enable access to days out and activities for disadvantaged children, families, carers and organised groups of young people
To support youth organisations to access activity based breaks for groups of young people
The Holiday Scheme operates across Greater Glasgow and offers the following opportunities:
A family caravan holiday or short break in one of our static caravans at Wemyss Bay Holiday Park
To support voluntary organisations to enable families to get a day out
Enabling youth groups to use our caravans as part of self-supported activity breaks
The charities’ constitution can be accessed here. Our 2023/24 Annual Report can be accessed here. Our 2023/24 Annual Accounts can be accessed here. The Holiday Scheme employs 2 part-time staff, a Coordinator and a Programme Officer. The Trustees on our voluntary management committee oversee the work and operation of the charity meeting around 9 times per year with our AGM usually held in mid-November.
