Performance Report 2024

We are delighted to report on our impact in 2024. which shows that we:

  • provided 240 families, 445 children and young people and 399 adults to get a break.  All are impacted by poverty and disadvantage.  This included 92 people with mental health issues, 26 adults with a disability, 31 families impacted by domestic violence as well as 8  asylum seeker families and 107 single parent/carer families.  It also includes over 100 children with a disability.

  • enabled over 40 families to get a day out;

  • supported 5 youth organisations to have activity breaks for around 42 young people;

  • ensured 20 group days out for over 350 young people;

  • coordinated a weekend retreat for women and children impacted by domestic violence; and

  • supported 90 families and 245 young people through our Christmas Gift Scheme 2023.

 Our recent AGM was a great success with several testimonies from families and groups who have benefitted from what we do.  As an example of that feedback, we heard:

  • I can’t thank you enough. This has been our first holiday after my 5 year old son finished his chemo. It made me the proud mummy seeing his wee face trying to join in with the Krazy Krew. He did get tired but that didn’t stop him lol! It was so lovely to enjoy getting away, You are special people to do this for family that has terminally ill child. I can’t thank you enough, we have made so many happy memories. Thank you very much. Big HUG”.

  • “There are no words to express the fun and relaxation we had during these days. Glasgow Children’s Holiday Scheme is a blessing and a gift, because without it we could never do it. The trip was wonderful, kids had an amazing time. Thank you so much xx”

  • “We would like to say huge thank you for the holidays.  We really enjoyed.  The weather was on our side. It means a lot to us as it was first ever holidays for my 2 kids. If I may say that it was opportunity for me to sleep on bed as for few years I'm sleeping on sofa. We've been impressed with adaptations for wheelchair users.  Again, thank you so much and for your work to help many families in similar situation as us”.

Our full report can be accessed here. Please get in touch if you can support the Holiday Scheme to continue to ensure children and families get to enjoy a bit of fun. Holidays and breaks are something many of us can take for granted yet is deprived to many children and families across greater Glasgow.
